correction

after a bit of research, i realized that i had incorrectly used the terms tropical storm and hurricane interchangeably in my last post. i have since corrected this. my apologies for misleading anyone.
there are four terms used to describe organized disturbed weather in the tropics: tropical disturbance, tropical depression, tropical storm, and hurricane. from what i can gather, storms are classified based on their wind speed. a hurricane's wind speed exceeds 74mph, while arthur's wind speed maxed out around 40mph.
