well, i spoke with our peace corps placement officer again today. she informed me that they found a program for us in central/south america...only it leaves in september. she (and we) really wants to find one that departs sooner. she said she is still waiting to hear back from two other programs in central/south america and that she would contact us as soon as she hears anything. once again, she was very positive, and reassured me that with our skills and flexibility, we really will be shipping out this summer. i feel temporarily reassured and reinvigorated.
i decided to spend a bit of time this afternoon exploring greensboro's bicentennial gardens and arboretum. the flowers and trees are so beautiful this time of year. i feel so lucky to be enjoying this amazing weather. (and so hopeful that we will be gone before the heat wave strikes!)
