still here!

in the midst of all the mayhem that comes with a school year ending and vacations beginning, somehow blogging has slipped to the lower ranks of my mental priority list. truth be told, the list may have gone completely unnoticed for quite some time and i'm just now reminded of my avid readers. to those of you who have been holding your breath, waiting anxiously for the next chapter in coy and melissa's peace corps adventures: this is not the entry you're searching for.
instead, this post serves to inform those who care that we are alive and well and have already taken notes for the next blog entry of real substance. it will include pictures and tall tales of sandy beaches and mayan ruins. it will not mention the day to day monotony which involves my never ending battle with ant colonies wishing to lay claim over my house, or anxiously awaking each morning to gauge the cloud cover and determine whether laundry is even an option. it will fail to give a detailed summary of this week's journeys under the bed, where i attempt to reclaim suitcases and boxes of books from the ever growing layer of dust and bug carcasses.
if i chose to write about these aspects of my life, it would only be because i am dwelling on them, and i cannot do with that. instead, i choose to highlight the most memorable of times, which conveniently fall under others' areas of interest. all that cleaning and spitefulness i can save for the ole journal. after all, pen and paper produce an amazingly calming effect on the restless mind.
i'll get to work on that. in the meantime, stay tuned for the highlights!
