this is really happening

we leave monday morning for miami and i am beginning to have that feeling deep in the pit of my stomach. it's not like butterflies so much. more like a fistful of pop rocks. remember those? that's what it feels like. after a year and eight months, this is really happening.
someone pinch me.

here's what coy and i looked like in may. for those of you who haven't seen us in a while, and also for those hoping to keep tabs on our inevitable decline in hygiene over the next two years. these things are fun to monitor.
well, this is our last weekend. we really do plan to eat our faces off. coy's mom arrives tomorrow night and she will be greeted by a bonfire complete with roasted hot dogs and s'mores. sunday morning we will join my dad for breakfast and hope that we can clear some room in our stomachs in time for the evening's farewell potluck with grandma.
the packing is underway. everything has been stored and sorted. there's not much left to do but sit and wait. in our attempt to stay healthy, coy and i plan to fill the next three days with workouts. at least i can daydream about my new tropical home while i run. ahhhh....

Melissa, I'm so happy that you and Coy are finally off to Belize--I guess you probably leave tomorrow morning? I know you two had a long and turbulent process this time around, but I'm glad that you have finally gotten there. Not only that, but you got one of the most beautiful countries in the Peace Corps! A tropical paradise as your home for the next 2 years! I will be looking forward to hearing all your updates about all the exciting things going on! --Jenna
