sorry sweet, sweet cabina. we never intended to abandon you so soon, and just when we had finally achieved the ideal level of coziness. but as luck would have it, there was this offer we just couldn't refuse...
on tuesday morning we moved in with the infamous family i've been raving about in the past few blog posts. a monumental occasion in the history of peace corps volunteers: volunteers with the freedom of living alone choosing to move in with a host family? that's just unheard of. what can i say? family trumps privacy at this point in our lives. and because we are so blessed, we actually have quite a bit of privacy in our new home. a beautiful, spacious bedroom with a huge window, and an attached bathroom. not to mention so much lovely outdoor space and plenty of room for yoga and exercising. oh, and three people who adore us! it works out well, cause we adore them too, and more so every day.
unfortunately, things have been worsening with our assigned host family, although we haven't had any recent interactions. they are clearly very upset with us, and choosing to demonstrate their feelings in rather spiteful ways. this was very challenging for me to accept at first, but after much thought and counseling from doña elder, i realized i can't change the way they are choosing to react, and i need to just let it go. and, as coy always says, haters gonna hate!
but we are VERY happy and comfortable in our new home, watching fútbol (soccer) with doña elder and emanuel in the evenings and anxiously awaiting viviana's weekend arrival.
however, this weekend we will miss her, because we are headed to the beach for our first vacation! my awesome husband arranged a weekend getaway to a little beachy paradise to celebrate my birthday. how lucky am i?
